Breaking Free and Finding Equilibrium in Life's Uncertainties
Ever been blindsided by life?
Sudden upheavals, impulsive decisions, and unexpected life transitions can often leave us feeling unmoored and disconnected.
Today I'm discussing the clarity and life excitement I've gleaned from the sudden move for our family as well as valuable insights into holding onto one's inner alignment. Our journey, in all its uncertainty and well-being, has underscored the potent ability we possess to stay connected to our purpose and inner balance, even when thrown curveballs.
More than just a chronicle of change, this episode is a testament to the transformative power of spirituality in our everyday lives.
As a spiritual alignment coach, I delve into how I've broken free from societal norms and expectations, and consciously used my mind to navigate life's upheavals.
I also offer an intriguing glimpse into manifestation, as well as offer insight into how to maintain your inner equilibrium and stay true to your authentic self amidst life's ups and downs.
Finally, hear how a simple phrase change, from 'listening to your heart' to 'observing your heart', can make a world of difference in understanding our emotional needs.
Let's journey together through the winding paths of life, finding balance and alignment along the way. Tune in!

Hi and welcome back to showing up whole the place where we discuss alignment in mind, body, heart and spirit in every aspect of our lives. Today I actually want to do a little bit of a deep dive and share with you a few things that are happening with my own life. I have been tiptoeing around Sharing this and yet I know that it's really important to sometimes see processes that we discuss here in in action, and I also want to share a little bit about how sometimes I might not be fully integrating those processes because I'm human and, yeah, let me kind of deep dive into a bit of vulnerability with that with you. Hi, okay, so Let me share with you a couple of things that are happening with my life and and I want to also kind of point out that there's a few different versions of this story that I could tell with you, but I'm only going to be talking about the one that I feel is the underlying story the story of flow, the story of nudges, the story of manifestation and the stories of life unfolding. So In all, in a rather dramatic pause, I'm going to start here.
Speaker 1:So we have been renting a place here in the UK for a number of years it has been a home. For the last four years this was where my family worked through lockdown. I've watched my children grow here into adults. We I've watched my son grow here by about probably two feet, as well as probably the beginnings of a mustache. There has been a A lot of joy in this house, a lot of laughter and Then, as well, a lot of tears. We lost our cats here in in a tragic experience. We have had a lot of challenges. Okay, so that that's like that. That's the overarch, right where we're. Then, all of a sudden, we were told that the landlords want their house back. I do probably believe that they're fixing up some things because it definitely needs that. We had witnessed them lovingly little flaws, but the truth is is that there was definitely some flaws, so I'm sure that they want to fix that up and charge more, because that's kind of the the climate that we are in at the moment. So you could hear that go oh, my goodness, oh no, talk about panic and stress and and that's what? What? The stories that that we have in place right now.
Speaker 1:Let me rewind. Let me rewind to last March when, out of the blue, my husband and I both got the nudge to buy a caravan which in North America would be considered a trailer. Here in the UK you get these caravans and then you get these awnings which are like tent-like extensions off of this caravan and it basically gives you a whole other room. But we were like, for some reason we feel, called to get a caravan. And then my husband started looking at some work of going back to doing musical therapy, because he was a musical therapist for a number of years. We used to do it together as well. And suddenly it was like no, let's actually look at creating that. I mean, when we first got together, we had a caravan and we actually did musical therapy across the country, traveling and singing in residential and nursing homes, and it was this kind of adventurous experience.
Speaker 1:So he wanted to go down to the south of England, down to Glastonbury, down to Somerset, where we tap into the magic there, and this idea seemed to just flow. It was like we decided to get a caravan. We immediately went to go see one, we immediately bought it. Everything just clicked together and we kept looking at it going. Why are we doing this? Why are we doing this? I think my kids probably said the same thing, although they did want the adventure, and so we took a couple of adventures. One daughter literally was like yeah, I'm out of here, and she came back to the house within 24 hours and then we just kept enjoying this experience.
Speaker 1:So after we got the caravan roadworthy and ready to go, we started exploring it and playing with it and we found this great campsite down Somerset, in the middle of an orchard, and it is this beautiful space of well-being. The depth of well-being is almost that one where you actually hesitate to drop into the well-being of it because you almost feel like you're relaxing too much. So it's this question of we found ourselves in this polar experience where we were going down, my husband was doing work, we were on this campsite, life was flowing, it was lovely, and then we were coming back here. We were doing the things that we needed to do up here. The house, steadily, was needing more and more work because we've had a lot of damp issues and we were feeling really healthy and in flow down there.
Speaker 1:And then, coming back here and feeling something was off, I realized that over the last year probably, I have numerously said I really hate living in houses. My kids are always in their rooms doing their things on their phones or doing stuff, and we don't seem to connect as much as we used to. There's not that action of going out together and doing adventures. And then now you see, ending the story, and they gave us notice. So what does that mean? Well, it means actually that before we left the campsite last time, they were like, hey, well, actually there's these mobile homes that are actually for rent. They're empty. If ever you guys want to kind of plant yourself down here for longer periods of time, you could just get those, and so it was an easy transfer to go. Well, that's okay, we have a place for the winter, and then we can figure out what the next steps are. Okay, why am I telling you this story?
Speaker 1:The story of this is that when you are functioning in a state of understanding your own inner alignment, it means that it doesn't mean that life doesn't throw you things. It doesn't mean that you don't have stressful situations. It doesn't mean that you don't have challenges knocking at your door. It doesn't mean that you don't sometimes enter into a tunnel of unknowing and actually say I actually don't know the way out of here. What it does mean is that you function from the tools of alignment, of actually saying, okay, wait, where's my nervous system, am I feeling safe? I got to say about five days ago I turned to my husband and I said I'm actually having a bit of a traumatic response right now. My nervous system is very, very triggered. So I need to find ways of feeling safe before making plans, just before trying to react, before any of that, using the tools, getting back to grounding, getting back to the earth, getting back to deep breath, getting back to plugging into my spiritual source. It means that no-transcript.
Speaker 1:Acknowledging old stories that come up, prefabricated concepts of success of wanting, of saying, well, yeah, but I've been putting up for manifesting this beautiful house, why have I not manifested this beautiful, luxurious mansion? And going wait, maybe that isn't my version of success right now. Acknowledging the spiritual alignment of saying how often do I know that the universe has my back? And how am I listening to the nudges that lead me down a path of miracles? And even if I can't figure out what a path of miracles would look like, who am I to say that this isn't that path? It's a question of leaning into faith, the faith of the unknown. It's knowing that every situation is surrounded in angels. It's knowing that those nudges of hey guys get a caravan. What about this site? Are things to listen to? And when they unfold the way that they unfold, you go. Okay, I don't know if it lines up or how it lines up, but I know I'm listening and I'm jumping and I'm in.
Speaker 1:At the beginning of the year, I sat and was working on my intentions for the year and my core desired feelings, and a little thing was nagging at me. It was a thing of saying, first of all, it came from what I don't want. It came from a space of going okay, my daughters are flying free, they are out doing things and they're always meeting new people and they're away for a week at a time and they're doing stuff. My son's getting busier and my husband is now out of the home doing his work, where we all used to be at home together. And I could feel emotion bubbling up within me at that time that was saying I don't want to be left. I don't want to be in a space where everyone flies the coupe and I'm here doing the only one doing the same. So within that, a desire was created of a change. So, whether you intentionally verbalize it.
Speaker 1:When you know what you don't want, the universe knows what you do, and it was a question of all of a sudden going I need a change, I need to be out and about and I need to be doing things and I need some magic. And within that, then too, I know the seed of desire was born as saying I want a magical experience, I want the universe to swirl things up and serve something on a platter that I can't even imagine. And I released that and I said, okay, I want an experience like when I met my husband and I always call it, like you know, the universal frying pan to the head that you're like. There's no denying this one. I love those moments and I gotta tell you, those moments are so terrifyingly scary and I think the older we get, the scarier they become, because there is a deep understanding of faith, there's a deep understanding of letting go of what we feel should be the outcome, should be what success looks like, should be what we do, should be what we function like, and all of a sudden, you have to open your heart and your mind up to a space that says actually reinvent this. For me, like you know, it's like here's the ingredients. What can we do with it? It's like, okay, you know there's that whole thing where people talk about. You know you can have like scrambled egg on toast, or you can mix the same ingredients up together and you can make up a cake in a lot of ways. You know it's like there's, you can have different ingredients in your life that then you say, actually let's try something different.
Speaker 1:It's a powerful time and the way things have been just isn't working anymore. If you've been feeling disjointed, overwhelmed or scattered, you're not alone. Many are feeling that there's a feeling of needing more. Something's missing. What this feeling tells you is that it's time to claim your inner self and step away from the stories you've been taught to follow. It's time to listen to your heart, to heal your hurts and learn to lean into the universe. Having your back, it's time to take all of that self-help book knowledge and embody it, assimilate it and make it your own.

Speaker 1:When I talk about the universe's frying pan to the head moments, what I love about these moments is the universe does such a great job of leaving breadcrumbs down the road to say don't forget, you asked. I love it. I mean, I don't know if everybody would love this. Maybe I'm just I love playing with my spiritual guides and spiritual team and maybe I just love to say, okay, what can we actually serve up in this life? Now we come in these bodies and it's so full of opportunity and possibility. I find that as we walk this life, we have a tendency to create patterns and shoulds. Yet there's always like maybe it's me being the person that pushes the red button that goes. But what happens if we do?
Speaker 1:I love the fact that for the last three years of living, or four years of living in this house, I take the dog out in the day and then I just let him out the back or the front at night Occasionally, when I go out and take the garbage out, I look up at the sky and I go hey, yeah, I used to actually spend a lot of time sitting under the moon and under the stars and in this house, for some reason, I don't. I love the fact that there was a numerous experiences of saying I wish I would have a space that I could actually just stop and look at the sky and then over the summer, throughout every single night, walking out of the caravan to go to the toilet block or go have a shower in the shower block or go just take the dog out any of those experiences looking out and seeing the most phenomenal stars and every single time I do, I can hear the universe whispering. You asked, here it is.
Speaker 1:I love the fact that over the last while, my kids have often said do I really need a bed? Maybe I don't need a bed, I really would like a sofa bed. So then in the day, I just put my bed up and then, when we've been in the caravan and I don't sure if this is how these statics will turn out, but still while we've been in the caravan over the summer, it's like they pick up their beds and they make them into sofas. And I'm like you know, we talk a lot about manifestation and we talk a lot about magic and we love to think that we have a deep control over that. But here's the thing the universe is actually responding to the subconscious thoughts and, yes, you use your mind to consciously change, transform. I don't even want to say change, because the thing is, your subconscious is there presenting these ideas to you all the time, and actually a lot of them are there to listen deeply to.
Speaker 1:If they're not saying what you really want, if they're coming out as feelings of fear, if they're coming up as feelings of hesitation or mistrust or settling, if they're coming up as feelings of resentment or feelings of despair, then, yes, those are the things that you look at. Is not a question of looking at the things you want to manifest from that place and going, oh, but everything would be better if I had that over there. This is not what we're talking about. Rather, what do you need to do to acknowledge those subconscious feelings, the ones that come up in a moment, that come up in a time when you're not really thinking, a time when you're doing the dishes, a time when you're stuck in traffic, those little things, acknowledging those and going, oh, I see you. This is what default vibration looks like. Okay, this is what we need to work on. How do you take those and, from there, change them to ones of faith?
Speaker 1:It's a question of acknowledging that you know that, those moments of heaviness, those moments of doubt, and saying, yes, but we know we're taken care of. Let's look at all the times that I've been taken care of. Let's look at all the times that I've been picked up and carried. Let's look at all the times that I've felt the love enfold me. And if you can't find those times, then it's a question of saying, okay, so let's have those times now, let's let the love in now. The universe has my back, my angels are surrounding me, god is near. This is a question of whatever way you can find to create that plugging in, that shift, to know that you aren't in this alone and that everything does unfold in the right timing.
Speaker 1:It's a question of listening deep within your heart. Ooh, actually, no, I'm going to. I'm going to change that a little bit, because I was talking to a client and we were talking about listening to your heart and it came up that that actually felt really hard and so we talked about, rather than listening to your heart, changing it, to observing your heart. Observe your heart. How is your heart feeling? And if it's feeling scared and if it's feeling like it's all too much, then what can you do to offer it messages of love and letting more love in? Okay, a little bit more about that, because this is kind of an interesting space to go.
Speaker 1:So this path has unfolded and it definitely feels like the universe is going nudge, nudge, nudge, nudge, nudge, nudge. Okay, fletcher, family time for a new experience and frying pan to the head, moments from the universe. There is so much curiosity and so much wonder and so much huh. Well, where's this going to go? And I wonder what's going to unfold at this, because when things, when paths, unfold in these kind of ways, you can't really question making other choices in a lot of ways. I mean, sure, we all explore them, but still none of them really resonate. So you go well, that's kind of interesting, I wonder how this will unfold. And then you start packing and I'm not going to lie Then the tears start to fall because you can look at something that's playful and you can be curious, but it still is. Saying goodbye to chapters of your life hurts. It is part of the human experience, it is part of the path we walk, but it is when you are walking away from a place that you'll never see again and you know that that place held deep, deep transformational times for you and the people you love. It is, as my daughter would say, incredibly bittersweet.
Speaker 1:I have often been known for talking about positive experiences and positive perspectives and making sure you focus on the best, and that is, by all means, where I still stand. But I am not into toxic positivity. And you don't just paste a happy face on and go no, no, no, it's all good, it's all good, it's all good, it's all good. I won't just be fun darling, so don't be sad. That's not where we're at. It's a question of, yes, this is hard and we can do hard things. And yes, I wouldn't want to stay in this house forever. I don't want to live settled, because I have a funny feeling that there is always something better and better and better. So I don't want to live in a settled state. I don't want to say, well, this will just be good enough, and yet I can still pack a box and cry and I can honor the experience so far.
Speaker 1:I can give deep appreciation for something that is passing. It doesn't mean that I have to keep holding on to it. I don't know why, but the first thing that pops in my head is like you can love the piece of chocolate cake but you know you don't eat it all the time. You acknowledge the life experience that you are having and you take care of it and you appreciate it and you savor it. But just like a small child grows into an older child, and just like that older children can turn 21, like my daughter did yesterday, life moves forward and that's what we came for. And so you can acknowledge the path of grief and the path of bitter sweetness and the path of honoring and the path of savoring and the path of deep appreciation and at the same time you can also say but what feels like the nudge and what feels an alignment and what feels like the person I want to be and what feels like the unfolding of that person?
Speaker 1:And sometimes it will surprise you and sometimes it will jar you and sometimes you will be thrown into a blender of emotions that you don't know which one to feel first, and all of it is okay Because life is meant to be lived every single day and we embrace that life and within that, sometimes the universe says actually I've been noticing what you've been asking for without you even knowing what you've been asking for, and I can create that over here. It might kind of feel like a pinch. It's a bit like labor pains. You'll get the really golden prize at the end. And you have to say you have to choose. Actually, you don't have to say anything, you have to choose. Are you the person that will listen to the nudges and act on those nudges If it feels more an alignment to the person you want to be or do you want to? Not? And also, at the same time, there's no shame in saying not. It's no shame in saying, oh, my God, I don't want to live in that level of uncertainty. And what about my root chakra? Because God knows when.
Speaker 1:Alignment is a continual flowing experience and, like I said the other day, I had a traumatic response. My root chakra was not a happy energetic center, it was like what's going on, and I will also say that. So once that got balanced out, all of a sudden my emotional world was a little like there was a time, even a couple of weeks ago, that my emotional world just felt so out of alignment. I went for a long walk and I could feel the emotions just bubbling up because she just needed to release things. And I didn't record this podcast earlier because I wanted to make sure that my mental alignment was in place. So therefore, then I could I could help express the clarity of how this challenge is being walked. So alignment is an ever flowing thing. It helps when you understand your own alignment and it helps when you actually know, not necessarily the vision of how you want to live, but the feeling of it. And mostly of all, the key is to have a strong connection to that spiritual team so that then you can be listening to the nudges and trusting the flow and trusting your instincts and trusting the jump.
Speaker 1:This could be really interesting recording podcast over the next little while. You're going to probably find that my schedule goes a little off and on over the next few weeks. Well, we have. We have ones that are set to go over the next few weeks, so that's okay. I wanted to put this one in here beforehand because I thought it was important, but I will be keeping you updated and, by all means, follow social media, because I'm sure you'll be hearing some interesting things over there. At the same time, I am not where I live, I am not my things and I am not what I have, and in that, in all of that, I am myself, and that is who I will always be for all of you, and I'll be able to flow with that. So, by all means, I'd love to hear out your thoughts are and I send you all my best love and light and I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
