Speaker 1:

Hi and welcome back to Showing Up Whole the place where we discuss alignment in mind, body, heart and spirit in every aspect of our lives. Today, I want to actually gear this entire episode up to someone who I happen to see comment in a Facebook post I know I'm still on a Facebook break off my phone, but I do post on there for business and I saw this post and someone just said but I'm so tired. She was talking about world situations, she was talking about organizing her family, she was talking about how she feels, feels entirely worn down, and I want to talk today about claiming your power back. Even when you feel worn down, even when you feel like you'll never see your energy again, even when you feel like the world is collapsing around you, let's claim yourself back. Hi and welcome back. So, yes, I am hearing across the board a number of people talk like this over this last year. They feel like they have been run through the mill, they feel like one thing has happened after another, and I'm actually going to stand here and say I will totally agree with you. I have felt myself pulled in all directions this year and I will say that it has been an interesting year of growth and transformation, and it has been slightly exhausting. I have noticed that my ability to give you know all of what I usually have to the people in my life has become a little lessened and I am spending more time connecting to myself so I can actually be a better mother, wife, friend, coach and make sure that I'm in alignment to myself and that I am in full capacity of who I am. So, within that, I want to talk to you today about how to fully claim yourself back, even when life has you pulled in all directions, because it's actually not as hard as it might sound.

Speaker 1:

It's a fascinating thing, because you find yourself pulled under. You know it's like in the undertow. You find yourself in those moments where it feels like you just can't find your thoughts, that you find yourself spread too thin and you notice the things that quote-unquote you should do, and you also know that you don't want to fall into just living a life of shoulds, and so you find yourself in this. You can find yourself in this state of inertia. So how do you claim your power back? Well, today let's talk about some actually simple, simple steps, but also let's acknowledge a few things that exasperate this whole situation.

Speaker 1:

The interesting thing is and I will say this from my personal experience of hitting September and seeing my daughter off to university and seeing my other daughter off doing other things and feeling myself in this interesting whirlwind of emotion. The story of this is a transition. This year has been too much. I need a break, I need time to refuel, I need some time for growth and a space to re-identify with the systems of my life. So I had that and you know I used that as an opportunity to lie in bed a little bit longer, read a little bit more of a fun novel, spend more time just sitting around chatting. I gave myself the grace to explore what that looked like. But here's the interesting thing Our brains love stories and our brain loves stories to be used as excuses to not claim your power, because claiming your power creates change and your brain doesn't like change.

Speaker 1:

And when something happens, when you finally tell that story of that's it, or when something happens outside of you that makes you feel like your knees have been knocked outside, knocked out from under you, makes you feel like your knees have been knocked out from under you, when something happens that you just feel drained out, then your brain receives the information and you immediately get triggered. That trigger response becomes survival mode. You all of a sudden are seeing worst case scenarios, or you're all of a sudden tapping into this sense of depletion, and where attention goes, energy flows and so, therefore, the story takes root and your nervous system goes out of whack. You stop to being able to hear the clarity of your own heart, you stop to be able to actually truly tap in to that universal guidance. And so it's important to actually witness this within yourself.

Speaker 1:

And it was an interesting thing where, personally, I took a couple of weeks in September and all of a sudden I was like uh-oh, that's starting to take root, and I was witnessing the stories and as I was backtracking it through my system and I'm being totally honest with you here that it is a question of observing yourself and then asking yourself when you want to change it, because there's a lot of choices along the path of claiming your power back. What I mean by that is you can't fake this, you can't. It's vitally important that you don't just happy face sticker the sense of I'm fully drained out. I can tell that I'm telling the story of being drained out. I can tell I'm embodying the story of being too tired to get my stuff together and claim that power. You cannot happy face, sticker that and say, that's okay, I'll act like I have it anyway. This is not a moment of fake it till you make it, because you will disconnect from some part of you.

Speaker 1:

So here's the steps we're going to talk a little bit about, because it's really important for you to have some fundamental steps that are going to make you feel safe in your moment, safe to decide to claim your power back. Give yourself the opportunity to heal yourself in this moment. Tend to your mind and then tell the stories that are actually going to move you forward. All right. So are you ready? We're going to dive into this. Here you go, all right. So, first step if you are, in this moment, feeling like the bottom has just fallen out and that is maybe leading to a sense of fear or a sense of intensity or a sense of trigger response, it's really important to start with regulating your nervous system Now. We literally just covered this over in the Energy Reset Circle membership program on Sunday. That is now over in the member portal, if anybody is in the membership and you're looking for it.

Speaker 1:

It's really important to understand that your nervous system gets triggered when something throws you off balance. And the image that came to me on Sunday, which I really, really loved, is the idea of if you have a jar that's full of water and maybe and lots of bits so maybe you've got sand in there or you've got. You know, I used to make glitter jars with my kids that were like calm jars, but you'd shake them and everything would just fly up into the jar, right? So when you get triggered, when something happens or you start telling the story and you trigger your own nervous system by being like, oh, my goodness, I'm so tired and you feel unsafe, then what happens is it's like someone shakes the jar, and when you shake that jar, everything flies up and it gets scrambled all over the place, and that's what's happening to your energy when your nervous system gets triggered. That is how I've observed myself feeling it. That's how I find it in clients when I go in for an energy healing, and I feel their energy all up in their head and it's all over the place, right.

Speaker 1:

So what you can intentionally do is take a few deep breaths and literally visualize all of the sand or the glitter or the bits floating down to the bottom of the jar. Just take a moment and actually imagine all of those bits flowing down down, down down to your feet, even to the ground beneath your feet. Just imagine everything settling within your system and observe whether all of a sudden a little bit so that go whoop, no, I can't. That feels unsafe, and then you just take a few deep breaths and glide it down. Really good rule for regulating your nervous system, because when you feel triggered, you do end up with no peripheral vision. You literally can't see solutions. You are only focused on the fear or sense of need to survive.

Speaker 1:

A really important reminder is to remember that if you breathe for one full minute, so a deep breath for one full minute, you do stimulate your vagus nerve and that just regulates your entire nervous system. So what does that mean? It means that you actually just inhale for a count of six and exhale for a count of six, five times. So just allow that breath to flow through you and you with a deep, steady count. So even if it's just a question of inhaling two, three, four, five, six and exhaling two, three, four, five, six, done, do that five times and you create a sense of stillness and groundness and you can feel the energy just drop. You can feel it Even as we're talking here. You can feel it start to settle into a far more open space.

Speaker 1:

Now does your mind like to regulate your nervous system? Not always. Sometimes it'll be like, yeah, but remember this, and oh, you have to do this, and oh, you can't rest and we'll chatter about whatever is triggering you. So it's really important to, when you create that shift, to that sense of deep regulation, to look into tapping into your heart. Do this for me for a moment, careful, if you're driving. Do this for me for a moment, careful, if you're driving. Put your hands on your heart and imagine your heart rising up to your hands. Just take a moment to, rather than feeling like you are forcing the issue, and you will listen to your heart. Instead, give yourself permission to surrender to the will of your heart and allow your heart to rise up to your hands.

Speaker 1:

Listen to your heart. It always holds the key. You know, over the summer, when I was doing a workshop someone I was we were talking about heart, had coherence, and we were talking about listening to your heart and trusting your heart, and someone said, yes, but what about listening to your gut? And and here's the simple definition about listening to your gut versus your heart your gut is often it's usually based in fear. Your heart will never actually pass you on a fearful message. Your heart won't be like, ooh, be careful of this. And it won't be like, ooh, make sure you don't do that. Rather, it'll be a guided nudge. It will be a flowing knowingness. It'll be a I need to do this now. It'll be soft and smooth and loving and it will flow.

Speaker 1:

A gut instinct will often be a little bit more action-based. It will be a little bit more forceful and if your nervous system is triggered, it may be speaking the voice of fear rather than love. If you are in a stressful situation, it will likely do its best to protect you from worst case scenarios, which actually won't be deeply intuitive. It will actually just be forceful. So you're going to want to take a few minutes and really tap into your heart, breathe deeply there, there.

Speaker 1:

Then, from that space, you're going to want to shift to an openness of your mind, and what I mean by an openness of your mind is it's really important to tell the stories that serve you and to me when I'm feeling drained out or when I'm feeling like I don't know what to anchor in, I always go back to source energy, and that can actually lead to a sense of prayer or asking. It's a sense of saying actually, universe, take it over, guides, take it over, show me what to do. I open up to the love of the universe, I open up to love and allow that to flow through me. May I be a channel of love and may I be a channel of peace. And may I know too that this moment does not define anything. Rather, this is just a stepping stone, and something happens when you actually surrender to the safety and security of the moment where you find your present self again and you realize that it's not based on circumstance. There is that connection to the world of who you really are and the connection to your spiritual self and your all that is-ness, and from that point you can feel the new energy begin to flow and you start to claim your power back. Okay, so I'm going to let you meander around those for a second and then I'm going to be back to tell you a little bit more. A few more tools, really, really practical couple of tools. One of them I just heard the late Bob Proctor speak on, which is such a valuable resource, and I'm going to give you some really strong practices that you can do immediately.

Speaker 1:

Be right back. Do you feel like you are continually seeking, trying to embody, to heal, to fix and show up, but you always find yourself running on empty? Let's look at finding you more energetic alignment. There's a good chance that one of your energetic worlds either your mental, emotional, spiritual or physical is out of balance, and with the right practice, you'll have you back in flow in no time. I'm Christina Fletcher, an energy alignment coach, and I want you to know that self-development doesn't always have to be another trip down a rabbit hole. Rather, let's figure out where your flow is blocked and go from there. Check out my free quiz over at spirituallyawarelivingcom backslash quiz and find out where you do need more energetic alignment. Then we can explore what simple practice will give you that shift. None of us are in alignment all the time, so let's get you what you need to be back in flow wherever you need.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so what have we got? We've got nervous system regulation. Make sure that you are regulated. Make sure you are regulated. Don't tell yourself any stories until you've made sure that your nervous system is regulated, because when you are in a triggered state, you can't see solutions anyway. So regulate Ground. Allow that energy to drop all the way down to the ground. Focus on your feet.

Speaker 1:

I didn't say that before the break. Focus on your feet. Focus on your feet. Focus on your feet. Focus on your feet. Allow the energy that is sinking down to flow all the way to your feet and down to the ground and anchor yourself into the earth. She is waiting to receive anything you need to let go of and she will process it for you. Connect to your heart. Allow that inner resource to fully create stability and love within you, rather than listening to fear and listening to head traffic and listening to swirling energy. Then begin to tell the stories of releasing to the universe, of allowing the universe in knowing that you are being loved and taken care of. Create that link and nourishing thoughts that support that.

Speaker 1:

Your thoughts are a really powerful thing and I'm not going to lie, I actually think they're more powerful than ever before. We've had an interesting time in our world and in this time I will say that things manifest really, really fast and determination of focus really does do some incredible things. So, within that, I will say tell the stories in your head that feel the lightest. If you need to tell the stories about your very moment day, then do that. If you need to tell the things that are working, the things that you love, the things that light you up, look out for things that make you go, oh, that's exciting. Or oh, I look forward to that. Or oh, my goodness, I really love that chocolate cake, whatever it's going to be, that allows your thoughts to latch onto light. Feeling experiences will help you rejuvenate. It fills you up with energy. It makes you, it reminds your very self why you're alive so good to be alive, you know. It reminds you of the power of who you are. And where attention goes, energy flows. We know this. This isn't just something I say all the time. Rather, it is actually proven by quantum physics when attention goes, energy flows.

Speaker 1:

So where are you putting your attention? Where are you putting your attention Right now, in this moment? Where are you putting your attention? Where are you putting your attention right now, in this moment? Where are you putting your attention? What are you feeding? Are you feeding the love? Are you feeding the fear? Because I got to tell you, it is our human instinct to feed the fear. So feed the love. Just practice the littlest thing. So here is something that I wanted to actually pass on to you, because I heard this the other day and I was like, oh, this is so good, it's just such a nice practice and I've been doing it in the morning and I'm like this is really, really good.

Speaker 1:

I was listening to the late Bob Proctor, who was a brilliant manifestation coach, and he said every morning, do this. He said it well, if you want to change your life, do this, and honestly, I can well believe it. So here's what you do. First step write down or think, because in the morning I'm lazy and I don't grab my pen, so I do it in my head. First thing in the morning write down or think 10 things you appreciate, 10 things you're grateful for, if you like to use gratitude, or 10 things you appreciate, because I always use appreciation. So what do you appreciate? What do you love? What lights you up? What's working. Even if you're lying in bed and you're thinking about your pillow and how soft it is, that counts. Even if you're thinking about the birds that are chirping in the tree outside, 100% counts, even if you are thinking about the leftovers in the fridge. That counts. It all counts. Anything that you can appreciate. It's not hard to list off 10. Once you get started, just get started.

Speaker 1:

Next, once you've done your 10, think of three people that bother you and send them love. Sometimes more difficult for some people than others. Just send them love. It doesn't need to be a big deal. You just think of people that bother you and you send them love. Just allow that love to flow out like a light, and if you need to see it as light instead of love, do that. So imagine the love flowing from you and surrounding them. Or you can imagine a big bucket full of love hanging over their head and they just get dumped in it. Send them love If that bothers you and if the mere mention of that triggers you.

Speaker 1:

Here's what I'm going to say. It's really important to decide if you want to be someone who withholds love. Love is not approval, love is not. You know, we live in such a judgmental place. I feel like social media has made everything so judgmental. Love is not. Love is well-being. Love is acknowledging. Ah, okay, you know what. Here's how to phrase this. Okay, when you look at the Hindu practice of namaste. You simply practice namaste, which is the God within me, acknowledges the God within you. The soul within me acknowledges the soul within you. The love within me acknowledges the spiritual love that's within you. It's a wonderful, wonderful thing. Always love that, um.

Speaker 1:

Next. So you find your three people that bother you and you surround them in love. So 10 things that you appreciate, three people that bother you. Then you take five minutes of quiet. Five minutes of quiet does not mean shattering in your head. It means five minutes of quiet, focus on your breath, ground. A really great way of doing this is actually looking out a window and connecting to nature. Breathe deep, be quiet and after those five minutes, ask for guidance. Magical combination.

Speaker 1:

What I love about all of this is it's taking care of your thoughts. It's taking care of your heart, because it's releasing any issues with others, it's loving, so you're generating love which is shifting from fear, and then you're letting in your spiritual light. So good, I was very impressed and you know it's one of those things that just resonates deeply with wholeness, and you know how I'm passionate about that. I'm also going to add okay, because someone actually mentioned this the other day and it was such a profound. For some reason it just entered my head. I was like that's actually a really, really good thing.

Speaker 1:

Step outside before checking your phone. It can be a two minute thing opening the door. Step outside. This was actually something that I heard and I went. That is such a profound thing and it does really, really create this space of reminding you what you're part of.

Speaker 1:

Okay, here's the thing we are part of a fascinating world right now, and it can be very loud, and I really feel like that is why so many people are saying how tired they are, and I want you to have permission to know that you can step aside from whatever story and whatever noise is being generated for you right now and you can get outside and you can walk and you can touch a tree or touch the grass and you can breathe in the air and you can look at the sky. Touch the grass and you can breathe in the air and you can look at the sky and you can thank the all that is-ness for every bird and every rock and tree and every bone in your body, and you can know that you are part of this wonderful system that has such a deeper purpose than we can even imagine and in all of that, know that you are a spiritual being having this physical experience, and if sometimes you feel tired, it's okay to rest, and then you claim your power back of the spiritual being that you are and you remember that you can ground an anchor and you can call in your spirit guides and you have a whole life to live and it is a powerful, beautiful life and that life is something that will resonate deeply in wholeness when you remind yourself of all whole aspects of yourself. It can sound all like words if you're not in that place, and I'm totally acknowledging that, but I will also say that I am here to tell you that it is true. I have witnessed miracles happen and I have experienced the good of the world and I do love people and I love being a human, and I also know that people make mistakes and people can get disconnected from who they really are. Communities can, towns can, countries can. There's a lot of trouble in the world right now and yet each person on this planet is a true gift of light and there is a light, a spiritual light, in every single person and if we acknowledge that, then we make great connections and we can make magic.

Speaker 1:

Now, all of that to say in that rampage. I also know how hard it can be to be on your own and do this on your own, and also if you don't, if you can't talk about it to the people in your life, if people are scrambled around you or feeling. Also if you're around a lot of people who are feeling really tired or really drained out or talking about the year. So make sure that you know that you don't have to be alone. So make sure that you know that you don't have to be alone.

Speaker 1:

I actually will say I have room for a full-time client on my schedule which can be looked at. So feel free to DM me if that's something that you want to look at when, if you want to dive in deep with me to make sure that we put in the practices together, that we shed the energy that's been weighing you down, there's practices, there's tools, but also a space to talk it through and release it in a safe container. We can do that. The other thing is, don't forget the Energy Reset Circle meets every Sunday and we are diving into heart connection this Sunday and there's a loving community there for you. So both of those links are in the show notes, also my email. You can always just drop me a line. There's so much love and support for you. There is love flowing to you from the universe and even if you feel tired and you need to rest, know that you are being carried. If you feel tired and you need to rest, know that you are being carried. So in all of that, no-transcript.
