Hi and welcome back to Showing Up Whole the place where we discuss alignment in mind, body, heart and spirit in every aspect of our lives. Today, we are talking about something that a term we often all use, a term that's rather trending, and yet I want to talk about it a little bit from a different angle. I want to talk about boundaries, but rather than the boundaries that you build up against others and to protect yourself, I want to talk about the boundaries that contain you. Hi and welcome back. You know, it's always interesting to look at what's percolating in the energetic platform. I think that's why so often I have spaces between these episodes, because, well, many content creators quote, unquote you know air tags would say you know batch, create your content and record a whole bunch of podcasts all in a row. Something always holds me back from doing that, and I want to show my appreciation for your patience with me as I navigate that, because we are in an ever-changing world and I like to make sure that what is talked about here is present for you. Talked about here is present for you. So right now, we are living in an over stimulating energetic platform, and what do I mean by that? And I mean you might be listening to this a year down the road and I want you to know that it is relevant for you. Whenever you land on an episode, that is the episode that you need, but when I am recording it, as I am today, I want to make sure that it is basically it's just reflecting where we are at the moment happening. There's a lot of planetary alignment. There is retrogrades coming up.
Speaker 1:In a little more than a week, there is a sense of upheaval from the collective energies. There is a lot of fear percolating around. There is a lot of denser energies. There's a lot of intensity. What is that leading to? It's leading to a lot of head chatter and it is leading to a lot of people feeling encroached upon. What do I mean by that? It means that bombarding energies from all around you can feel like you're crowded in. It can feel almost claustrophobic as you try to bat off the things that seem to try to hook into your energy. So that also leads to people getting triggered in your life. You may find that suddenly, people's tempers are slightly more heightened or you're having issues with communication with people. You might find that you aren't understanding the people in your life the same way and or, frustratingly so, they aren't understanding you. You might find that even the guy at the gas station will be a little bit more edgy. You never know how people process energy, how people process energy, and it is important to start leaning into observing that space of observing that for other people. You know you go on social media these days and I don't know about you, but I can feel the energy pouring off of heightened nervous systems and heightened energetic systems, overloaded with information and overloaded with just stories of building up intensity.
Speaker 1:The fascinating thing to know too within this is that with all of this energy, as I said, it does immediately. Immediately your nervous system and your brain register that as abnormal activity and that leads to you feeling triggered. It leads to a survival fight or flight mentality. It means that a lot of parts of you are going to potentially just shut down so that you can focus on the danger ahead. It's really important to acknowledge what nervous system deregulation or instability or a triggered nervous system feels like to you, because everyone experiences it slightly differently. I notice that when my nervous system gets triggered, my energy flies up to my shoulders and to my head. I feel swirling. I can't ground as easily my breathing gets affected. There's lots of different ways that your nervous system will tell you that it is headed into survival mode and it's really important to get to know your system. Important to get to know your system. So I'm saying this because, to set the platform up of understanding, I want you to have this visual of bombarding energy, be a swirling tornado around you, and why that leads to a conversation around energetic boundaries.
Speaker 1:So what do we know about boundaries? We know, like you know, when I say that this is a trending term, I'm saying that because we have a tendency to experience something toxic in our lives. So it's a toxic relationship and we go I need to put my boundaries in place our lives. So it's a toxic relationship and we go I need to put my boundaries in place. We will feel like we're being taken advantage of in a situation and we say I need to put my boundaries in place. So boundaries being put in place has kind of come to signify a line drawn in the sand. It's like that's it, I'm done Out Right, and there is a level of protection that comes with that I need to protect myself from.
Speaker 1:I will say that I am very aware of the word, not necessarily the intention, the word protection. And let me tell you why. The reason is because when you actually say I need to protect myself from something, where attention goes, energy flows. If you're not careful, you are going to be putting attention to the thing you're attempting to protect yourself from. This is true with boundaries as well. The more attention you put to building a boundary up against something, up against something, you can often run the risk of putting more attention and more energy into the thing that you're protecting yourself from. So it's not so much creating your own space and your own energetic sanctuary. Instead, it's actually about just pushing against what you don't want and, quite honestly, what you resist persists.
Speaker 1:I'm pausing because I want to make sure that this actually really kind of sinks in, and I know I've coupled this with intense energy of all this swirling around you and introduced the concept of boundaries. As you know, the not necessarily the way we build up our own worlds, but instead it can lead to more energy leaking in. Okay, so why, christina? Why are we talking about this right now? And how? How do the how do these two work together? So here's the fascinating recipe that comes with these two ingredients All that bombarding energy leading to triggered nervous systems. Triggered nervous systems read from fear. That survival brain will always be looking for the way to protect you, and so, therefore, you might be drawing lines all over the place in the sand in order to try to keep whatever is out there out when attention goes. Energy flows, energy leaking all over the place the more you try to catch the balls of all the things that are in the air, and then we come to energetic boundaries. So here's my idea of boundaries. Here's my idea of boundaries.
Speaker 1:Energetic boundaries is the understanding that you are your own unique energy. You are remember I've told, said this a few times before in past episodes you are that unique tone in the symphony of the universe, your frequency, your energy, who you are. That is paramount in these times of chaos, in these times of chaos. So an energetic boundary is built from the place of understanding that you, in your utmost alignment, when the energy is flowing through all of your energetic worlds, flowing through from you know, the universe itself, your soul self, flowing all the way down through the top of your head, flowing all the way down through all of your chakras, through your spiritual energetic world, your mental energetic world, your emotional energetic world, all the way down through your root chakra, through your physical energetic world, grounding you deeply into the earth.
Speaker 1:When you become a conduit of spiritual energy, when you are grounded, earthed, anchored into your human self and yet fully plugged into your spiritual source, that creates a cord line of energy that flows all the way down through you. I like to call it the golden cord. You know it flows all the way down through you. It anchors you deep and plugs you in and you are a conduit of that energy and you are in your deepest wholeness. So you ground your energy within that. And if you imagine that golden cord like a bright light, and the more you are in that wholeness, the more that light shines out, out, out, out, out, out, out, and as it shines out and moves past your physical form, stretching wide and creates your auric field, now you have your aura, you have that incredible radiance that is you that. You know, when I do an energy healing, even from across the world, I can find the edge of your field. Now, sometimes that field sticks pretty close to the body, sometimes it stretches wide, wide, wide, and when it does it's like this giant bubble.
Speaker 1:Okay, so even the other day I was talking about this with a client and I couldn't help it, I just had to describe it this way. It's like, you know, in Wicked. You know everybody knows I love Wicked. You know, in Wicked, when you have Glinda coming down in that glorious bubble of hers and she is just surrounded in that world of her own, you know she kind of just floats down in that world of her own and she can interact with people and then build it back up again. That is what you have and it's important to take care of this space. So can you feel it? Can you feel the difference in running around trying to build up boundaries against what you don't want versus creating this safe haven of yourself that expands out as far as you need surrounding you in a deep state of connection?
Speaker 1:Now something magnificent happens from that space. When you are in that radiance and the more you practice it, the bigger it gets there's a sense of you can bring in what is a match to that bubble. You can allow the love in you experience, oh, like incredible hugs. You know you can engulf others in that energy it's just this and their energy engulfs you and it's just. You can interact with people and have incredible connections. You are functioning from this whole space and at the same time, the other stuff, the denser energies, the heavier stuff, the heavier energies, the fearful energies, they don't, they can't get in. You deal with challenges from that whole place. It's like that bubble just coasts along, dealing with the challenges holding you in this sacred bubble.
Speaker 1:In my mind, that is a boundary. It's a boundary of yourself, it's an energetic boundary that is stretched out specifically from you, from your deepest connection, and I want you to feel into the lack of pushing. It takes the lack of force, the lack of. I'm going to make a boundary. It doesn't need to be imposed, it's allowed. It stretches in this beautiful, loving way. So there is a power in imagining that space. But I want to also explore the actual making of that. How do you know when that wholeness is there? So I'm going to just grab a drink of water, I'm going to take a little short break and then I'm going to tell you how you can break down and understand creating that bubble so that you have that energetic boundary in place.
Speaker 1:I also have a couple of little things to add to help you deal with the unpleasantries of some situations. Give me a minute. The world is loud and, while you don't want to let it absorb you, it's also hard to find the time to learn all the practices. Read all the books, listen to all the podcasts and figure out how to assimilate all the tools putting them in place in order to feel true to yourself. Don't worry, I have a solution.

Speaker 1:So let's talk energetic boundary and setting up that bubble, like we were just talking about. You know you are creating a sanctuary of your soul light, your soul, energy, your divine self. You are creating a space where you radiate out and in its wholeness. Things don't enter the same, in fact, sometimes you don't even bump into them the same way. So it means that you're not pushing, pushing, pushing against what you don't want. Instead, you're allowing it to be released and you are standing in your wholeness. So let's just talk about what setting that up looks like and how you're actually going to set that up. Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 1:So, first and foremost, like I mentioned, it's vitally important to regulate your nervous system. If you listen to this podcast often enough, you know that this is something that I really take very seriously, because the spiritual work and the manifestations and the juicy, deep connections and working with angels and all of that stuff, all of the whole aspects of it can really be too bombarding on a nervous system if you haven't regulated it first. Your nervous system is really functioning as that safety space and your brain is the one that's telling it oh, this feels dangerous, oh, this is triggering, oh, this feels like change. Actually, that's uncomfortable. Uncomfortable means danger. So your nervous system is continually observing your experience and if something feels remotely different, it can often flare up if it hasn't been regulated.
Speaker 1:My personal favorite way of regulating a nervous system other than a few hacks like different energetic practices that you can talk to me about because it takes video but the you know you can do energetic practices like that you'd find in Jin Shin, jiu Jitsu and things, and Prune Harris has been on here and talked a little bit about that. But you can do those practices. But first and foremost my go-to's deep breathing. Deep breathing. If you practice deep breathing for a full minute and a great way of doing that is just inhaling for a count of six and exhaling for a count of six, and you do that five times, and if you practice deep breathing for a full minute, you just stimulate your vagus nerve, which regulates your whole nervous system, and you find yourself in a steadier place. Now, that's one way.
Speaker 1:Recently I actually found out that humming is another way that regulates your nervous system. So do a full minute of humming and you actually totally tell your body. Things must be really safe, because I wouldn't hum if I was in danger. I love that one. When I heard that I was like that is actually one of my newfound favorites.
Speaker 1:But also, of course, grounding and for the purpose of setting up an energetic boundary, you're going to want to ground, because if you imagine two points of this bubble, you've got the starting point at the top of your head and then you have the other polar opposite, at the bottom of your feet, and so grounding establishes the anchor for your bubble as well as regulates your nervous system. So few simple steps of doing that, other than going barefoot outside, which, if you're still in winter, then you don't want to do that but focus on your feet. Focus on your feet allows all of the energy to flow all the way down to the earth. My favorite way of doing that is actually to just imagine roots growing deep, deep, deep from the soles of your feet and allow those to anchor deep into the earth so that you feel the replenishment, so you feel the nourishment from the earth itself. If you focus on your feet and you're like, well, my head is just actually thinking feet, then actually imagine all of your thoughts and all of your energy, almost like pouring the plug on a drain. Imagine that flowing all the way down to the earth and out into the ground. But allow yourself the space to feel that settled, because just saying feet, feet, feet, feet, feet might translate to your brain saying she's trying to distract me. So just feel any of the nervous energy within you just dropping down, flowing down like a waterfall down into the ground through your feet Really good way of grounding, really making sure that you feel steady and stable. Again, there's a few energetic practices that you can do. You can put one hand on your head, on the top of your head, and one hand on your forehead, and take a few deep breaths. Then they're imagining the energy that's from your palm flowing down through the center of your head all the way down, to create that image of you, of this light flowing all the way down to your center again out into the earth.
Speaker 1:Okay, so you're grounding. Your nervous system is regulating. Remind yourself, I'm safe. Focus on what is working. Look around you. You have a roof over your head. You have a, or even if you're listening to this in car, you have a car roof over your head. You have food that you can eat. You have the ability to listen to podcasts. We know that for sure. There are so many things that are working well, so focus on those so that you are noticing the simple things that keep your survival present. You are alive. This unravels the story of your brain that you are in imminent danger and so, therefore, your nervous system can rest All right.
Speaker 1:I want you to just focus on the image of that. Okay, a triggered nervous system. All the energy is like balls thrown up in the air. Everything's hyper, hyper, hyper, right. Everything feels spiky. That's the image that always comes to me Whenever I do a healing, and it's like a triggered nervous system. It's spiky, spiky. That's the image that always comes to me whenever I do a healing, and it's like a triggered nervous system. It's spiky, spiky energy. So all you're doing is you're smoothing out the spikes, you're allowing it all to flow down into the ground, you're giving yourself time to just breathe and feel safe and feel steady, and immediately the spiky energy flowing down means that you've got this, this flow. Literally, that's a flow, a flow of energy that then can start flowing effortlessly through your whole system.
Speaker 1:Now I mentioned earlier, you have your four energetic worlds. You know, you have, you have and what you're wanting to actually be most aware of, rather than your spiritual energy, because that is really crown chakra, it's what you're letting in. So you've already set the platform for that to start flowing. Your main focus is going to be your mind, your heart and, again, your nervous system. So you've dealt with your nervous system, which is your physical energetic world. There's a few other things that can flow in there, but I invite you to pop over to my website and actually, if you go over to my website and you take the energetic world quiz, the energy alignment quiz that's on there, you take the quiz or I'll also post it in the show notes. You take the quiz and if it comes up with physical alignment as your result, you will receive a PDF that actually tells you all of the different things of what that feels like and what that can come from and different ways of resolving that.
Speaker 1:Okay, so then you have your mental energetic world. So you really want to explore your thoughts. That is, for instance, bringing in other people's energy, bringing in the fear. How can you ease the drama of your brain? Drama and dramatic stories not only keep your nervous system triggered, but it does draw in the energy, of energy, everything that you have decided well, anything that interferes with your own frequency. So train your thoughts back.
Speaker 1:Then you have your emotional and, of course, your heart. In so many ways, is what not like out of alignment, your emotional energetic world out of alignment, will actually pretty much collapse the bubble around you, because you're pulling in everybody's stuff, you're feeling everybody's stuff. So therefore, trying to have a strong energetic boundary when your heart energy is out of balance is kind of like having a dam that's leaking water all the time. You want to make sure that you are clear of any energetic cords, that you are focusing on love and allowing your heart to process anything that needs to process. You want to be deeply connecting to your heart and listening to her voice. So from these spaces you are creating the clear flow. You know it's like we're. It's like when we talk about chakra work and we talk about how that energy flows. Like down a mountainside. It's like a down a stream down a mountainside. The stream flows and it sometimes hit whirlpools and those whirlpools gather up clutter and you have to clear those clutters out in order to create alignment of that energetic flow. So clear out the clutter so that the flow can flow all the way from the top of your head all the way down through you. So therefore, then your light can shine in deep wholeness and radiate out, out, out, out, out out to create an energetic boundary.
Speaker 1:Okay, it's a bit of a turnaround and I want you to a turnaround in the way we often think about these things. So don't worry if it feels over-intellectualized to you. I want to encourage you instead to just embody it, embody the feeling of groundedness and know that when you ground, a natural bubble starts to occur around you. You, once you focus on your feet, once you ground, you let more energetic flow through you and that will naturally start to move out and surround you. The more you focus on love rather than fear, the more that light will radiate out from you and you will feel your bubble filling. The more you tell stories away from the drama and instead tell your brain to listen to your heart, the more you will be in a space where you can be intuitively tuned so you'll actually notice if any danger comes in, because your heart will tell you you don't need to always be on edge. In fact, being on edge wears you out and it collapses your bubble. Okay, I want to.
Speaker 1:I want to throw another little thing in here, because I know I'm I'm expanding metaphors, I'm using a lot of imagery, but I just want you to understand how important it is to be true to yourself right now. Important it is to be true to yourself right now how important it is to create a space for your energy flow, that your energy is actually the most important thing in the world right now, because each person needs to stand in their own light. And when you know your own light, then from that space you are guided on your path, and your path is what creates the fabric of the world and the fabric of our entire universe. So it's so important to know your energy and to take care of it. Energy and to take care of it. So I say that because as a preamble to this image, okay, and this was something that Daniel Laporte said years back and it stuck with me so deeply and that is understanding your heart yard and knowing that at any time, you can put up a heart fence to anyone you're having issues with.
Speaker 1:If you suddenly feel like someone gets into your field in a toxic or negative way, you are allowed to put up an energetic fence or put them on the other side of your energetic fence. So what is a heart field Basically? Well, you can actually decide what kind of field that wants. I love that about Daniel Laporte when she said well, you can choose whether it's a picket fence or an electric fence for each individual person, because everything is different. But imagine this that you have your house and you have your beautiful yard, beautiful garden in front of it. If someone came in and started pulling up all your flowers or throwing their rubbish all over the place or treating your yard badly, you would not let them into your yard, let alone your house. Instead, if you had to see, you would meet them at the gate and it's really important that this is your prerogative to say actually they're on the other side of my heart fence and meet them at the gate. You can even shout to them from the, your doorway of your heart. You are allowed to put that distance and you can imagine that bubble that we've been setting up as that yard, that your edge of that is that heart fence.
Speaker 1:We all can have people in our lives that we feel icky around, and sometimes you actually have to see those people, and so it's really important to create your energetic space. That is your yard. So you know you have a sanctuary, that you know that you have a safe space of who you are, and then that can mean that sometimes you're just social to someone and you don't let them in. And I'll tell you, your heart knows, it knows deeply when you have set a fence to protect her, to hold space for her, to surround her. And I did say protect, yes, I did, I'll acknowledge it, because you are saying my space and you take care of that space. And when a heart knows that its space is taken care of and it's cleared and it's got wide open areas to move and to navigate, then it radiates out so deeply and you know yourself, and that too, that's your energetic boundary.
Speaker 1:Okay, so two versions, two imageries of energetic boundaries, so that you aren't caught in the how, the scramble. I find it such a scramble to focus on. What do you need to protect yourself? Where do you put your boundaries up? What is that? What it is Instead, your aura, your energetic bubble, your space around you that flows effortlessly when you are in alignment with yourself, when you are grounded and whole, that is the energetic boundary and that is who you need to be and who the world needs you to be.
