Why Energy Feels So Heavy

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Showing Up Whole, the place where we discuss alignment in mind, body, heart, spirit, in every aspect of our lives. And today, you know, I was really leaning into what we needed to talk about today, and then suddenly I just got really, really clear and simple. Today we're talking about energy. We're talking about understanding energy and how you can actually have practical embodiment of who you really are. You know, it's interesting because I am an energy alignment coach. I talk about energy all the time, and yet I don't. I often forget to relay the information of what energy alignment, what actual energetic hygiene, what energy healing actually is. And, you know, it's it's been a very strange beginning of the year. It has felt like there's been a lot of energy shifting. There's been new energy coming in and stagnant energy that has almost felt like it was refusing to leave. I was talking to my membership program the other day, and we were talking about how it really felt like we were almost in this limbo state a lot lately, and how many people were feeling like old chapters had stopped, had faded, and had ended. And yet they couldn't fully let go of those chapters in order to let the new chapter in. They actually didn't even know what new chapter that was, like what was coming. And they can't really feel into it. So that's a situation of energy. It's it's a it's a question of trapped energy, it's a question of stagnant energy, and it's also a question of allowing that new energy to find you. Um, and I want to really dive into a deeper understanding of this, but I want to get really simple with you today. Okay. So let's dive in, shall we? I I want to like literally, if let's consider this almost like a simple masterclass on energy, on understanding what energy alignment really is and how we can let this work. And how this can you really support us in these very scrambled, chaotic times. Because when I say there's a lot of energy around, oh my goodness, there's so much energy. It is like mud out there sometimes. So, so let's get clear and let's make sure that our energies are aligned to a light energy. All right, so what does all that mean? Oh, let's get basic. So we are energetic beings. And I'm not even just talking from a spiritual sense, I'm talking from a scientific sense. We can say that we are electric beings. There is energy that is coursing through us, it is our life force. Now, many people will have done a lot of studies on what this energy looks like. We can know of studies that show that when people have passed away, that energy has been even witnessed to leave their bodies just by special camera equipment and things like that. Now, from that same type of special camera equipment, we know that energy flows from above us down through our centers and down into the earth. And ideally, what we are are basically energy conduits. We connect the energy from above us, it flows all the way down through us, and as it flows down through us, it anchors us into the earth. We know scientifically that we also, because we wear rubber shoes, a high percentage of the time, that the rubber sole shoes actually retains electromagnetic field within us. So we can't actually ground into the earth. That's why scientific studies show that, you know, getting barefoot on the ground and walking barefoot in the summer is a wonderful, wonderful thing to do because it actually releases that electromagnetic magnetic field, it releases the energy from your body, and you can create a flow. You've heard people on this podcast speak about seeing energy. Now we're talking more of the unseen metaphysical energy to the human eye, but we also know that, you know, we, as you remember, if you remember listening to Prune Harris, I highly recommend nipping back and checking out her episodes if you haven't. But she talked about being able to witness energy, to see energy, and that that energy is always flowing through us and from us. So you almost create this steady flow of energy around you. So I mean, the the image of receiving energy from above you, from the universe, as you will, from source, from God, from all that is, receiving that energy, allowing it to flow through you. You can also just see this as light or love, receiving it flowing through you, allowing it to flow all the way down to your feet, anchoring you into the earth, and then from you radiating out because you too are part of that energy. I always like to see this actually as each of us being an individual cup of tea. So, my favorite idea or symbol or image of what spiritual energy is like is like the water that you pour into a cup of tea. So it's pure energy. It's pure water. It flows through you, crystal clear. But then as a human, what we bring to it, our soul itself, our soul is that energy and it resides within and around and connected to our bodies, and our human experience is like a tea infusion. So we've gathered up all of the experiences, the opinions, the concepts, the observations, the challenges, and all of those components make up our own personal infusion. That water flows through that infusion, that energy flows through our human experience. It flows through who we are. And that energy then transforms. You can't take the tea out of the water, just like you can't take your human experience out of your soul. This is why we end up having connections to people who have gone before us. This is why you get a hint of your loved ones who have gone on before, or you get a sense of uh someone who lived a long time ago. This is why you can also know who's walking in the room, even though they might be walking in behind you. You get a sense of individual people because they've been infused in their energy. And again, that is something that cannot be removed. So, how, I mean, before we dive deep into all sorts of concepts within that of soul sent um spiritual life experiences, let's just focus on energy itself. So there's our energy. It's flowing through us, it is radiating from us. Now, that also means that the person next to you, their soul energy is flowing through them and radiating from them. It also means that if you are in a crowd of 100 people, everybody's soul energy is flowing. There's a great line in the Conversations with God books, where at one point uh the author Neil Donald Walsh, who's channeling the book at the time, and he goes, you know, but I don't understand. If my soul is radiating from me, if my light energy is radiating from me, how do I know where I end and the other person begins? And God kind of goes, Well, yeah, that's kind of the idea, isn't it? So it's important to remember that our energies are always bouncing up with other people. Now, there's a lot of things that you can do to make sure that you hold your energetic space, that you are not bumping up with another person's energy or a crowd of people's energy or the global collective's energy, that you are whole in yourself. Now, the number one phrase in all of this is that where attention goes, energy flows. Where attention goes, energy flows. So your mind is, it's kind of like your your mind is a bit like the driver of this experience. The idea is that it's if you imagine your mind like the steering wheel, ideally your heart, your soul energy is the one in the driver's seat. Unfortunately, we often think that we are in a driverless car and we let this car drive wherever it is. And so, therefore, wherever our attention goes in a scrambled mindset, which the majority of us have most of the time, it means that our attention is always over here and over there, and thinking about so-and-so, or thinking about that thing we read, or thinking about that funny cat meme, or thinking about our schedule or what we need to pack for lunch, and we're all over the place. So, where attention goes, energy flows. And with that, quite frankly, our energy, rather than that conductive space of receiving, grounding, coming back up, radiating out, that beautiful flow that we're naturally have, instead of that, it kind of ends up into a scrambled mess. It leaks. It leaks everywhere in all directions. And so that's why when you hear me talk about things like nervous system regulation, when you hear things like grounding, taking time to connect, taking time to align your energy, what we're talking about is making sure that you are fully claiming your energetic self. You're finding center, you're calling your energy back from all the corners of where your attention has taken it. But there's a lot of different ways to do this. And I think considering the world we are currently living in, considering how considering how often fear itself can be what pulls our energy, that pulls that intention. And as that attention goes to fearful things, scrambled things, our energy gets weakened. Because if energy is made of love, the opposite of love is fear. So we get sucked into the fear, and from getting sucked into the fear, we then lose that sense of connection to our energetic self. What am I doing so far? I know this can sound conceptual. It can sound intellectual. And and I really don't want you to feel like this is a cognitive twist that you need to be um scrambling down because that's not going to serve you. So let's just take a moment to just breathe into our energetic fields. Give yourself the moment to just drop your attention from anything you're doing right now and focus on just a small thing. Just one small thing. Ideally, actually, is just focus on your heart. Put your hand on your heart. And as you put your hand on your heart, put your attention on your heart rising to your hand. Lean into that sense of presence. Feel yourself connected to your inner world. Can you feel yourself relax into that? You know, something that is a wonderful thing to visualize that you can put your hand on your heart, and we have a tendency to work on the hearts from the front part of ourselves, right? From from our front center. But we often forget about the heart energy that also radiates from behind us. So as you put your hand on your heart, imagine that you have beautiful wings behind you. And put your attention on those wings. Feel them stretch behind you. That is the presence of your energetic field. And it's so vitally important that at this time we are all calling ourselves back into the magical beings that we really are, the energetic presences, the angels in human form with these energetic wings that flow out behind us in each and every moment of our lives. Because where attention goes, energy flows, and we have to remember that we are energy. Now, anyone who's listened to me for a long period of time knows that what I'm most passionate about is making sure that you have the tools to take care of your own alignment, that you can always tap into yourself, that you can be tapping into that connection, that you can create a clear line for yourself between source energy and the earth, and that you become the solid, clear, aligned version of you that you came to be. Now, that said, it really is important to remember that we are living in a collective environment. And right now, there are a lot of people with very triggered nervous systems and a lot of leaky energy. Now, in that knowledge, in that awareness, it's important to remember that, you know, you can be driving down the street where attention goes, energy flows, and then you are driving with other people who are rather triggered. Your attention is on their driving. You might be like, oh my God, why are they driving like that? What are they doing? You might feel like someone in your life or people in your lives are not as competent as you wish they were or as clear-headed. And so then you start wondering, why are they like that? What are they doing? And you watch as your attention gets mingled in to their energy. And their energy then gets mingled into yours. Same too. You're scrolling your phone, you're on your social media, you all of a sudden see things that you're like, ooh, and you feel yourself contract. You feel your own energy actually kind of recoil. And in that recoil, you you all of a sudden take on something that doesn't belong to you. It's very easy to gather energy, especially if you're empathic and highly sensitive. Because energy is like velcro balls that's being thrown at you all the time. And you can only bat them off. And when you're actually in full alignment, we all have things that we're doing. There's human lives to live, there are people to take care of. There's a lot going on. So within that, it's important to know the signs that you're picking up on energy and also how to take care of your energy. So I want to dive into that in a little bit, um, in one second. I just need to take a break. I need to grab um a drink of water. So I'll be just one second. Life can feel so heavy lately, right? Here's what you need to know. We pick up energy like lint, walking around the grocery store, attending meetings, pretty much everywhere we go. We're around people who are leaking all their stress, their fear, and upset all over the place. Right now, there's just so much going around. So, even if you are trying to meditate and taking care of yourself, you may be carrying more than you think. In fact, you may be carrying what's not even yours. So, just like pulling out the lint roller, you have to clean out your energy. And in my upcoming class, I'm showing you how to do just that. Energy flows within us, where attention goes, energy flows. At the same time, while we're living our busy lives, we're around a lot of other people who maybe have some leaky energy all over the place. And so knowing how to take care of your own energy and your own self is vitally important. You know, um, a few weeks ago, I was traveling to Canada to visit my family. And it it was, you know, I was feeling a little run down. Um, the trip had kind of emerged out of a place that I wasn't fully expecting. I'd been in hibernation mode all January, really. I'd been, my energy was about refueling and refreshing, and it was an inner time. And then all of a sudden, this trip showed up and it unfolded in a way that there was I I knew it was the right path to take. It was fully aligned and it was a wonderful, wonderful trip. But as I was traveling, I could feel the stress picking up, and I felt a little worn down with that. So I also knew that I was going to be traveling in an airport and I was going to be around a lot of people, and uh there was a lot of energy that was building up. So I threw on my massive quartz necklace. If you're watching this on the video, you would be able to see that I'm holding up my quartz necklace. It's a massive piece of quartz, just clear quartz, that I picked up at a festival a few years ago. And I threw it about my neck and I thought, there you go, that's that's a shield. Because I remember a long time ago hearing a story about a woman who is a, was a bartender at the time, and she kept a piece of quartz in her pocket, just because she it always felt like a good idea. And one day, she, or one evening, one night, she was working behind the bar and a really angry drunk uh lost control and was came basically screaming at her in her face across the bar. And it was, it was, it was an unpleasant experience, to say the least. And the bouncer came, pulled him away, he got kicked out, etc. After she'd kind of recovered from the emotional impact, she kind of checked in on herself and she realized she was recovering pretty quickly. And when she reached into her pocket, she pulled out her quartz, which had now broken into three different pieces. Because the quartz itself had received the impact of the energy that was being directed towards her. And rather than her system taking it on, instead, the quartz absorbed it for her. So, therefore, I thought, you know what, airports, I'm gonna wear my quartz. Now, the funny part was is that as soon as I walked into security and I went into the scanner thing, which are you supposed to do the scanner things or are you supposed to get pat down? I've seen so many people say not to do the scanners, but still, I walked through the scanners and I was like, I didn't, I kind of just told my system to just forget about it. And as I did the scanners, I was pulled aside and they were like, you know, unfortunately, your necklace, it really doesn't like your necklace. And I don't know why that is. Now, maybe that's exactly what was happening. Maybe my necklace was absorbing all the energy of this machine that was circling around me. But so therefore then, you know, they did a little bit of a pat down as I held my necklace up so that they could see that I wasn't holding anything in it, suspicious. But it was just an interesting reminder that, you know, this was not uh letting it couldn't be seen through. Anyway, so I said, Oh yeah, well, it's probably just my quartz. And the the security guard that was there was just, or the immigration officer was like, uh, what is that? And I was like, Oh, it's quartz. As I, you know, it absorbs negative energy rather than my system absorbing energy, uh, any negative energy. And so it was an interesting experience. So then, you know, as I was going back to grab my bags after it went through the scanner, I could hear two securities talking, going, What did she say? What did She just called that? And I was like, oh, it's a quartz. She uses a quartz. And it was this kind of interesting teaching moment where we pass on information about these sorts of things in very unlikely places. But it was just such a lovely flowing experience that I wondered if the quartz itself had nudged me to wear it. Because really, I didn't run into any negative experiences at all throughout my entire journey. But I knew that I was also not taking on anything that I couldn't handle because I had set the energy up by putting on a necklace. I rarely wear my quartz. I'll be totally honest. I'm I'm not the biggest necklace fan. I find that the chains around my neck, especially with a heavy, heavy quartz, can sometimes discombobulate me or sometimes make my neck, my attention goes to my neck because and so my energy just gets stuck in my neck. So rather instead, I basically practice energy hygiene on a regular basis. What does energy hygiene mean? It means simple practices, either like body sweeps, um, different hand movements that I do, different grounding methods that I do, different mental practices that I do because where attention goes, energy flows. So then with my our minds, we can put our attention on different images and different practices that then release and clear our field. I see it like brushing my teeth. I take care of my teeth because I know that that's what benefits me. So therefore, I take care of my energy. I take care of my field. And I realize that often I haven't actually talked as openly about this as I probably was meant to, but anyway, it's coming out now. So there we go. Um, and for that reason, I have put together a masterclass that I'm offering for free on March 21st. The link will be in the show notes. It's all about how to release negative energy from your body. Because these are tools that we all need to be using. It's vitally important to take care of your energy. You know that you're carrying negative energy when you feel so many different signs of this, everything from heaviness in your body, um, even weight you can't shake, can often be from carrying energy that's not yours. Shoulder pain can often be energy that's not yours. You can also feel like you have no focus. You can feel anxiety, you can feel a sadness that you can't quite figure out where it's coming from. Or sometimes things just aren't clicking and you can't track why. Maybe when you're meditating, you keep thinking about someone else, or when you're trying to go to sleep, you're replaying conversations in your head. You can pick up on energy from so many places, and often just that little niggle or weight that's in the background is that your body's way of telling you this needs to be cleared out. Now, as an energy healer, I do energy clearings all the time. So sometimes people may be like, wait a second, why am I clearing up my energy? Why am I practicing my energy hygiene when I can go to someone to do this? It's important to remember that this is your responsibility is to take care of your field. An energy healer, like if I do an energy healing or clearing on someone, I can clear things out quickly and I can help your energy be fully aligned within your whole self so that you feel free, you can feel open, you can feel um fully aligned to who you really are. Your soul energy, that cup of tea that you have become, will be fully present within you. Yes, where attention goes, energy flows. So therefore, if you are not taking care of that, and I mean, I always give my clients special tools or practices that they can use to continue on with this. But if you aren't taking care of your energy, then neural pathways will remind you of old habits. Um, you will homeostasis will keep you off than where you have come from, and you can put that baggage back. It can be an ongoing loop if you aren't fully embracing clearing your energy on a regular basis. So, yes, energy healings. I mean, even when you consider practices like emotion code or um energy releasing techniques, uh EFT, all of these incredible practices clear your field immediately, and you can feel a massive shift. But your responsibility will always lie in maintaining that. Think of it like going to the dentist. You see the oral hygienist and they clean your teeth so, so well. You know, you get that lovely squeakiness in front of your teeth. But then it's your responsibility to maintain your teeth visit to visit to make sure that you are clean, healthy, well, and that you are in in this good standing, right? It's the same with energy. So, yes, absolutely. Use all of the take take part in any of the help that you can get, but it's vitally important to learn the tools to also take care of it yourself. We are in a very strange time. And if there's one thing I believe 2026 is truly about, it's about fully claiming our individual power. Our own energy, our own focus, our own stories, our own greatest paths. And that can be really scary and it can be actually quite difficult because we have so much going off around us and where attention goes, energy flows.
