The Season of Your Identity
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Are you feeling the pull to become someone new, but not quite sure who that is yet?
In this episode of Showing Up Whole, Christina Fletcher explores what she's calling the Season of Identity; a collective shift that's asking all of us to pause, observe, and step forward as the person we're actually becoming.
If you've been feeling tension in your body, chaos in your mind, or a sense that the old version of you no longer fits, you're not alone, and you're not broken. You're in a transition.
In this episode you'll discover:
• Why your body is holding tension right now and what it's trying to tell you
• A simple meditation to help you find clarity when you don't know what you want
• How to use the new moon as an invitation to release old identities and old dreams
• Why manifestation is shifting and what embodiment means in this new energy
• How letting go creates the energetic space for your next chapter to arrive
Christina also shares her own season of identity, from decluttering her home and wardrobe to scrapping the family car, and what each release revealed about the new energy coming in.
This episode is for the woman who senses she is changing but hasn't yet found the words for it.

New Moon And Identity Season
ChristinaHi, and welcome back to Showing Up Whole, the place where we discuss alignment in mind, body, heart, and spirit in every aspect of our lives. Today, on this eve of this coming new moon, I want to discuss a little bit about intention, but more so about the season of identity. We are headed into an interesting time. We are currently in an interesting time. And within that, it really feels important to identify ourselves, who we are, who we're becoming, and who we want to be. Hi, and welcome back. I might have given a bit of an overextended introduction. It seems like we're embarking upon a lot in one episode. But I want to kind of poke around how currently we are in this interesting time where we are being faced with who we are becoming. What I mean by that is it feels to me that every client that I talk to, everyone in my community, even my family and my friends, and even myself, we are all witnessing this kind of upheaval of various things rising to the surface, ready for us to face. What's becoming with that is this sense of a little bit of chaos. It feels like there are things pulling our attention in various directions. Often this is including things from our past, or it is coming from old identities of ourselves that are actually asking to be dealt with. We are headed into a new moon. I find this a fascinating thing to be exploring at the beginning of a new moon. And also, we are experiencing a lot of global tensions as well as a lot of collective energy. I don't know if you watch the Sherman Residents, make sure you double check that episode that I did with Erin Brown a few a couple of months ago because it's really showing. If you follow her on social media, I highly recommend you check that out. Because they're showing a lot of spiking energy as well as a lot of assimilation. And all of that is kind of pushing, pushing, pushing us to actually up level as ourselves. So, what does all that mean? And how do we actually embrace that? First off, I actually want to encourage you to check a little bit within your body and how you are feeling right now, because something that is also showing up in clients and in myself is these various tensions that are showing up in our actual physical selves. It's almost like our energy is growing, and yet some part of us, because that's our human selves, some parts of us want to keep that energy contained. It's like keep the old systems in place. That creates a tension. It creates a contraction. And so everything from stomach issues, digestion issues, tension in your shoulders, in your back, even just a stiffness in like your fascia is really showing up right now. So I want to encourage you to kind of literally physically start to stretch into your new becoming, your new version of yourself. Before you even cognitively start looking at your identity of who you are becoming, actually give your energetic space some stretching, acknowledging the fact that you are changing because we are. So let's just kind of actually play into a little bit about what this changing looks like. You know, we are in a really fascinating collective time. There's so much happening in this world. Um, there's so much unknown new energy that's coming in. And there's a lot of things that, from a human perspective, we're we're we're fighting normalizing. There, there's been so many horrific things showing up for a lot of people. And we're really looking at making sure that we don't just accept those and move on. Now, at the same time, we are also taking care of our energetic selves and who we are. And so I think that's actually bringing up a lot of individual identity work. Now, within individual lives, there's a lot of different stresses that are coming in. There's a lot of different places where people are finding different types of conflicts or different types of challenges. And I have noticed there's this number of people who are now all of a sudden poking around things they never thought they were gonna poke around and actually saying things like, is this actually how I want to live? Is this actually the lifestyle that I'm desiring? Or are there changes to be made? Big questions for a very big time. So I actually have been looking at how this works for myself and for my clients, for my community on the whole, and and I'm actually discovering some really interesting things. I, you know, we we function a lot with manifestation in my world. Um, we talk a lot about becoming the version you want to be, of actually kind of setting these concepts, these ideals of who you are becoming, as if your brain has that knowledge already. And I believe that we are headed into a brand new format of how we can function. And what I mean by that is it feels like we need to stop giving our brains that much credit, it feels like we need to even expand and identify more with the sense of allowing our true selves to show up and embody within us rather than this overreaching concept of what that is. Because if manifestation is all about this idea of who we are becoming and then painting that picture, which is what we've all been doing for like 20 years, right? It's like, oh, I want to live this, I want to have this type of house, I want to have this type of income, I want to have these elements in my life. So often it is like physical, material, rooted things. Or I want to live in this country and I want to make sure I travel and we have the vision boards. I'm looking at my vision board right now. It, you know, we have these ideas about what that up-level version of life is. However, what we're forgetting, and also I think what we're actually moving into, is the fact that we have those ideas, or if those ideas truly, truly resonate deep within ourselves, it's because we are already that person on some level. It's almost like there's an energy of who we've become. It kind of is present as this soul-being, emotional, energetic space, a feeling, a frequency. Those images that we're imagining are kind of like what our brains are trying to translate that version as. It doesn't mean that that's like the goal. Rather, we need to actually become the person that we are leaning into. We need to focus on the frequency of that and then basically see where it goes. All right, big concepts. Let's break this down into smaller chunks. I was reading the other day about a simple meditation. And the simple meditation was basically, well, if you don't know what you want, because how often do people say, well, focus just on what you want? And you go, I have no clue what I actually want. People ask to talk to me about that all the time. And so if you don't know what you want, let's be gentle on that and acknowledge that and actually say, good for you, that's actually totally fine. So let's then instead of trying to meditate and contort your brain to come up with some concept about what you think you want, but probably is partly what you think you should want, and this kind of twisted version, instead, actually spend some time with just actually imagining your current challenges not being present in your life. All of the stresses, all of the hiccups, all of the things that are weighing you down. Imagine the weight that you're carrying right now, gone. Magic wand, gone. How do you feel? Now, first things first, be careful of your nervous system. Observe your nervous system. Nervous system might jump up and scream at you that that feels very unsafe because you might have been carrying that load for a while. And if you start removing it, then there's a good chance that that's gonna buckle up to say you need to put it back. Remind yourself you're safe. Take a few really deep breaths, ground your feet, plug in. Another deep breath, and then lean into it. Just imagine it. Imagine yourself feeling totally relieved of any of your weight or stresses. Feel them lift. A minute some worry comes in, add it to the release and see how you feel in your body. What I've discovered is that when you actually release the challenge, then you suddenly find yourself in this open space. Desires are born out of our challenges. When, as Abraham Hicks says, when we know what we don't want, we know what we do want, right? So instead of saying, well, what do I want? What do I want? What I want, you can use the idea of what you don't want as a way of just knowing and trusting that by acknowledging what you don't want and seeing it as removed, then suddenly the state that you do want is going to flood in. It's a bit like seeing the challenges, like a big wall in front of you. And you need to get to the other side of the wall to see what life without that wall looks like. And yet we have a tendency to be standing on the one side of the wall, looking at the wall and saying, I wish it was gone, I wish it was gone, I wish it was gone, I wish it was gone, I wish it was gone. If it was gone, I'd be doing this, if I was gone, I'd be doing this, if I was gone, I'd be doing this. When really, how do you know it's on the other side of the wall until you're over on the other side? So this to me is a really important step to be taking for new moon intentions, for leaning into a sense of who you are becoming, and uh to release the shoulds that we've become married to, become committed to, even release the dreams that we've become committed to because we are changing paradigms, we are changing worlds. There, there's a brand new energy flooding in. We see it not just on the Sherman Resonance scale, but we're also seeing it just around us. More and more we're looking at situations and go, well, that's weird. That's never been like that before. How often are you functioning even in your work? And suddenly you're like, that's weird. It feels different. So we have to embrace that. And we have to know that it's a whole new ballgame. With a whole new ballgame, we need to make sure that we aren't just beating the same drum, banging the same dreams, banging the same statements of this is who I am. And instead, we need to roll it back and actually look at what am I asking for? What is my desired outcome? Who do I want to be? And get to learn that by listening. Okay, I have something in my throat. I'm gonna take a drink. Give that thought, we're getting back to that one second. I know how there's nothing worse than your mind chattering away, feeling like it's out of control. It seems like the more you try to get it quiet, the louder it manages to get. It's even worse when you're trying to sleep. It's like the most stressful thoughts kick up a fuss just before you climb into bed. Energy alignment affects every aspect of yourself. Your spiritual connection actually can affect your sleep. And if your head is chattering, chances are you are in need of an energetic shift, especially if you want a restful night. It's always interesting when your throat chakra starts crunching up and starts giving you a little bit of an indicator that maybe you're having some resistance. So we're gonna listen to that and we're gonna lean into now a little bit about how all of this plays into what I was saying was a season of identity. We have to give ourselves permission to reinvent ourselves. We have to give ourselves permission to actually observe ourselves. I know it's so. I'm currently teaching a local meditation class, and one of the amazing things to do when when you know when you're starting with a brand new system is to actually rewind it all the way back to the basic step. And the very first step in all of this work is to introduce the concept of your observer self. We have to be able to observe ourselves. We have to be able to ask ourselves questions. Everything from how am I feeling right now to do I like this? Do I actually does this resonate with me still? Does this serve me any longer? We have to give ourselves permission permission to lay everything out on a table metaphorically, energetically, you know, like lay all the pieces of ourselves on the table and go, huh? So what do these pieces equal out to? Do I, what do I love about my life? What is resonating so deeply that when I think about it, I can't help but smile. What has become a habit? And quite frankly, maybe I need to relook at that. What drains me? It's about poking around within yourself and saying, Am I stepping up into myself the way I know I want to and the way I know I can? Do I need help in that? There's a big question. What do I need to actually fully step in to myself? Uh, you know, it's it's fascinating because currently I'm personally I am looking at a number of different things in my life where I'm starting a couple of different programs, you know, working through a couple of just different journaling programs that are asking me similar questions to what we're talking about here. Um, I'm looking at my website and I'm looking at things in my business and I'm looking at systems. I'm like, oh, need new energy, need new energy, need new energy. Uh, you probably, it's all probably back end stuff. You won't probably won't see that much of a change, but I will feel differently in it. And that excites me. I want to approach things with excitement and eagerness. I want to know that I am sharing with you my most current version of myself. It's it's important that we are present as ourselves and not who we used to be. Same too in parenting. You know, it's always fascinating when I'm with my children and they might assume that things will be one way, and I'll be like, actually, you know what? That doesn't really resonate with me anymore. And I'm thinking of this. Same too with things like diet or the clothes we wear. Um it's important to know that throughout your life experience of everything that's gone before this very point. And that doesn't even matter how old you are as you're listening to this, before everything that's happened before this very, very point has been full of various chapters. And every one of those chapters, you have gathered data, experienced new things, expanded and grown as a person, shedded old skins, and suddenly you find yourself at a different chapter. Every chapter has to have a part of a death. You have to be able to let go of the old version because when you let go of the old version, you create space for the new version. And that's what we're here for. This human life is all about uh identifying yourself and re-identifying yourself, learning, growing, moving forward, and getting to know yourself even deeper, re-identifying yourself, stepping forward as that person. Who are you in your integrity? Who are you in your authenticity? Who are your heroes? What do you value? And from that, moving and becoming that person that steps into that values. You know, we're doing a lot of decluttering around my family right now, and we actually just had to scrap our beloved car, which was a bit of a momentous thing as a family, where my husband, especially very connected to it. And it, as someone who doesn't actually drive, I have problems getting connected to cars, but that's okay. Um lots of memories of our dog, who we got that car specifically, so we have room for his crate. Lots of different chapters. It was, we've had it for like the period of time where our children were really growing up. Um, we moved, helped our daughter move to her dorm in London with that car. Memories. Chapters. And suddenly it became a new chapter. As soon as we were rid of it, you could feel the new life starting to come in. This new identity flowing in is all of a sudden it's like, well, what is the kind of car we need now? We're also decluttering our space and we're getting rid of a lot of things. We're creating new spaces within our environment. I went through my closet and I dumped a whole bunch of clothes that, quite frankly, I wore quite a bit last year. But I was like, yeah, you know what? I want something new. I want a few different colors, I want a few different textures, I want a few new experiences. Who am I now? I invite you to observe yourself as I'm talking like this. If all of a sudden your nervous system gets a little triggered at the idea of letting go of things, then poke around it. Is it a nervous system thing because that makes you feel unsafe? Because you need your stuff for stability and safety. Or do you identify as your stuff and you're like, but I love my stuff. My stuff helps me be the person that I want to be. That's fine. My mother, she literally has, I think it actually did weigh in as an actual ton of books. Her books have been being collected through her entire life. She still has books that she got when she was five years old that her father bought her. And now she's 89. This is a legacy of literature. And that legacy of literature is like the chapters of her life. It keeps growing, it keeps moving forward, but she is committed to maintaining them. And quite frankly, we all are now because books are so rare. So It's important to know what you value in your life and know that what you're holding on to needs to serve the person that you are becoming. It's really important to be honest with yourself through this. So, in all of this, what I'm inviting you to poke around during this new moon, during this season of springtime. We just had Equinox a few weeks ago. We're stepping into all of this beautiful energy. We're going to be heading into Bellane, which is again that other vibrancy of life. I am inviting you to poke around who you are becoming and who you've become. Not the idealist version that you can, in your brain, you start mapping out as some cognitive concept character, rather actually leaning into yourself and being observing what you want to let go of to create space, what no longer is serving. And also energetically, like we said before the break, leaping over that wall so that you see the new, feel the new, experience the new energy, because you have energetically and emotionally practiced the feeling of releasing the current challenges that you have. I don't know, and I'm experimenting the experimenting with that meditation right along with you, but for all accounts, when we lean into the relief of not having your current challenges in your reality, when you no longer feel them in your body, and you just practice that sense of shedding the weight or heaviness or energy that you're holding on to. You let it go, knowing that you are opening up to all that can be. When you leap over that wall, from all accounts, from quantum physics, from the perspective of manifestation, energy, and spirit, you are becoming that new version. It doesn't mean that you have to fully understand what all those pieces do. How often do we look at our life and go, oh, you know what? I understand every little element of my life. No, we're experiencing it as we go. So you will be experiencing the relief of what has been challenging you and exploring brand new versions of yourself. There's an extra flow in there, isn't there? There's this extra feeling of creation happening right within your moment. There's no pushing, there's no forcing, there's no disappointment for not having your dreams obtained or not having not sensing that you need to be doing more or striving for more, or you're not a success. Rather, it's just a question of becoming. That excites me. And it feels like it encapsulates this new energy that we are headed into. Call it Age of Aquarius, if you like, call it New Earth, call it whatever you wish. We are headed into a new way of understanding. And to me, embracing that flow and embodying that flow, stop to stop using our heads and instead listening to our hearts and allowing the energy to guide us and move us forward. That's a really exciting concept. And I do believe, too, that in all the craziness of the world that we are experiencing right now, that is a power that no one can take away from you. All right. I would love to know your thoughts. Feel free to pop over to social media and let me know what you're thinking. If this resonates, if this lands. If you think that this lands, feel I'd love it for you to share this episode around to a few people. See how that lands. Make sure you tag me, Spiritually Where I Living. And or you can also just message me and say, Christina, this is my thoughts. Christina at Spiritually Where I Living. But in all of this, just know that we're all on a journey. We're all moving forward. And our journeys, our individual identity journeys, matter. It's what we came for in this lifetime, and we specifically came to this lifetime at this time for this very reason. So we embark all together. And I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Sending all my love and light. I'll talk to you soon. Bye now.
